history

GC Unihockey was founded in March 2002. The association was created through the merger of the UHC Cosmic Zurich, UHC Zurich and Zurich Lakers clubs. In order to meet the requirements imposed by Swiss Unihockey, the Zurich Lakers merged with the multi-sports club GC. The two original club Hard Sticks Adliswil and the Crocodiles Küsnacht were thus released from the umbrella club of the Zurich Lakers. This meant that the two clubs could not work together and merge with other clubs.

After registration in 2002, the club was eligible to play for the 2002/03 season. Both the men's first team and the women's first team could compete in their first season in the National League A. The league license commission has only given the club a provisional gaming license. Within one year, the club must show that the economic, sporting and remaining license conditions are met. After the first season, Swiss Unihockey GC Unihockey confirmed the definitive license for the National League.

In 2015/16 GC Unihockey won the Swiss championship for the first time. A season later GC Unihockey achieved the cup victory with an 8: 7 win over HC Rychenberg Winterthur .
