history

The Unihockey Club Uster was founded in 1986 as a subsection of the SATUS Uster. In 1996 they broke away from SATUS and have since been an independent club affiliated with the Swiss Floorball Federation.

Since the 2004/05 season, the UHC Uster (with one year interruption) has been A-class. The Ustermer achieved their first promotion on April 3, 2004. Thanks to a 7: 6 win in extra time against Waldkirch St. Gallen, the Zurich Oberland won the best-of-3 series with 2: 0 and thus secured promotion.

The membership has grown continuously to over 300 today. With around 100 active members and 210 juniors, 40 female and 260 male members, the club is one of the largest floorball clubs in Switzerland.

Most of the members of the association are between 15 and 20 years old; the average age is 19 years.

Since the recovery in the 2009/10 season, the men's team ended up mostly on a playout place. Sometimes relegation games also had to be played. The first playoff qualification came in the 2017/18 season.
