The Tal der Humut sports hall is one of the largest event locations in St. Gallen , which opened in summer 2006.

collapse

The gym collapsed on February 24, 2009. The cause remained unexplained for a long time. The Federal Materials Testing Institute , Empa, found out that missing ribs on the steel girders of the roof caused the hall to collapse. The Zurich Insurance has taken the damage and incurred the costs. Due to the collapse, the GBS students had to move to other sports halls. The sports club UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen lost their venue due to the collapse.

reconstruction

In spring 2012, the reconstruction of the sports hall in the Riethüsli began and at the beginning of 2013 the numerous clubs were able to move into the hall again.

The hall serves the UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen as a training and competition hall. During the day, the sports hall is used by the St. Gallen commercial vocational school.

reachability

The sports hall can be reached by bus line 5 of the St. Gallen transport company in the direction of Riethüsli . The number of parking spaces near the hall is limited, so spectators are advised to use public transport.
