History and description

No historical or archaeological information is known about this hillside castle , it is roughly dated as medieval . In 1925 it was also referred to as the "Hussitenschanze near Haslarn".

The now wooded Burgstall is at around 440  m above sea level. NN Höhe immediately west of the source pond of the Haslarner Bach, on the southeast slope of a flat, south-facing, agriculturally used mountain range. Its east side is protected by a small valley. The castle site is surrounded by a circular ring wall with a diameter of 75 meters, measured at the crests. The height of the ring wall is around two to four meters on the outside and around 3.5 meters on the inside. The otherwise very regular ring wall shows only a slight widening in the south-west and a five-meter-wide platform in the south-east. Around the outside of this rampart there used to be a ring trench as an additional obstacle to approach , this is now filled all around and buried high on the slope side in the northwest.
