Building description

Details in the courtyard

From the original moat , only the section leading to the economy has been preserved. The Renaissance arcades in the inner courtyard of the main building of the three-wing complex are of cultural and historical significance . In terms of architectural history, Fronberg Castle is difficult to grasp due to the numerous extensions and conversions. It has been renovated in the last few years. Colorful cultural programs such as B. Theater, open-air cinema and medieval festival take place.

The von Breidbach-Bürresheim family carried out a major renovation in 1992. So the roof was completely renewed. The last renovation to date was carried out in 2005, during which the outer facade and the inner rooms were largely repaired. The street leading to the castle was named after Randolph von Breidbach-Bürresheim , who belonged to the circle of the German resistance from July 20, 1944 .
