Katzdorf Castle (2017)

The Katzdorf Castle is located in the district Katzdorf the city Neunburg vorm Wald in the district Schwandorf .

history

In 1298 an Ott von Chätzleinsdorf appeared in a document from the Reichenbach monastery . In 1308, the dukes Rudolf and Ludwig dem Katzelsdorffer pledge a farm in Seebarn near Neunburg vorm Wald . This year Alto de Chaezleinstorf gave the Schönthal monastery its Leonberg fiefdom . In 1317 this Alto Chäzelstorffer appears with his son Eberhard in a document from the Schönthal monastery. In 1321 the Alt von Chätzestorf became a member of the North Gauze alliance with Ludwig the Bavarian . In 1331 his sons Eberhart and Otto Chätzleinsdorfer confirmed the donations made by their father Alt in 1308 to the Schönthal monastery. In 1346 Chunrat Newnburger sold his share in the Aigen zu Sand Jakob zu Newnburch as well as his properties in Willanstorf to Alt and Ott Chaczelstorfer . Alt Käczelstorffer zu Käczelstorf seals a certificate from Pablick Warberger auf Dieterskirchen in 1397 . Ott Chaetzelstorfer was a judge in Schneeberg in 1372 . Alt Chaeczelstorffer held a large number of functions one after the other, for example he was carer at Wetterfeld near Roding , carer at Tännesberg , district judge at Nabburg , carer von Bruck , carer from Cham and councilor and court master to Count Palatine Johann . On May 14, 1419 Altmann Käczenstorffer von Treffelstein seals a certificate of the Tristram des Zengers von Schneeberg.

This change in name is proof that Katzdorf has now passed into the possession of Christoph von Parsberg . He had married Margaretha von Kätzelsdorf and was matriculated in Katzdorf in 1419. In 1424 the brothers Altmann and Otto von Katzdorf donated a perpetual mass for the church in Katzdorf with their tithes in Zangenstein , Meischendorf and Hammer Meischendorf. In 1467 the Lengenfeld district judge Christoph von Parsberg sold his seat in Katzdorf to Hans Vogel , district clerk at Neunburg , who was enrolled in 1488 with Katzdorf. This is followed by his son-in-law Sebastian Lindhardt from Neunburg. The heirs of Lazarus Lindhardt , who had sat on Katzdorf since 1563, sold this property to Endre's Austrians († 1620) in 1589 . Then Katzdorf came to the Gant and was acquired in 1655 by Hans Georg Pfreimder , who left the compulsory Landsassen in the same year . Katzdorf had also suffered from the Thirty Years' War , so that many of the farms there were burned and destroyed.

On June 12, 1690, Veit Adam Helber bought Katzdorf. In 1699, his widow Elisabeth Appolonia was registered with Katzdorf. In 1709 the government councilor Johann Georg Zehmann bought the country estate from her. At the same time, Zehmann acquired the Pettendorf castle estate from the heirs of Johann Bernhard von Satzenhofen . After his death, his widow Felicitas and their children owned the Allodium Katzdorf and the Upper Palatinate fiefdom of Pettendorf, which led to protracted disputes between the siblings. Clemens Augst von Zehmann was ultimately able to pay off his siblings and become the sole owner. After a few months he died in 1776 and the property went to his widow Maria Anna and his four children Clement Maria , Aloisia , Maria Anna Christina and Walburga . Because of the high debts, Maria Anna wanted to sell Katzdorf and Pettendorf, whereby as an interim solution the property went to her son Clement Maria and his future wife Maria Theresia von Mospurger auf Schwarzeneck, whose dowry was used to pay the debts. However, since the debts could not be covered, the government ordered the auction in 1783. Clement Maria's father-in-law Johann Georg von Mospurger was then prepared to pay a large amount for the two goods. After his death, the heirs Maria Josepha , Joseph , Johann and Michael Mospurger sold both country estate to Wenzel Schedel von Greiffenstein , who also acquired Schloss Schwarzeneck in the same year , and his wife Anna Barbara , née von Sutor . As early as 1801, the goods were sold on to Johann Baptist Freiherrn von Ott , who made them the widow's residence of his wife Anna Clara .

In 1813 a second class patrimonial court was set up in Katzdorf , which belonged to Baron von Ott . In December 1813, jurisdiction over Pettendorf was withdrawn from him. In 1834 the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald announced that the second class patrimonial court had passed to the host Leonhard Mayer and the economist Christoph Pröls , both from Sulzbach, by way of the Gant auction . The dealer Samual Aufuchs was later named as a co- buyer . But since these were not aristocratic and therefore could not exercise the lower jurisdiction , this passed to the Neunburg district court in 1834. In 1830 Katzdorf was added to the municipality of Mitteraschau and in 1972 it was incorporated into the municipality of Neunburg vorm Wald.

Castle and Church of Katzdorf (1889)

present

The core of today's castle dates back to the 17th century. It was once a simple three-story building on a small hill next to the church. Today the upper floor has been removed. On the south side there is an entrance portal framed with granite, the building is rather inconspicuous. At the beginning of the 20th century, the house was expanded after a fire.

A previous building may have existed in the Middle Ages. It is not certain whether the previous building was in the same place. He could also have stood on the current church hill. The nearby Burgstall Altenschloss would also be conceivable as a predecessor facility or as a predecessor facility. The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited.
