The listed remains of the so-called Old Teublitz Castle are located in the Teublitz Castle Park (near Münchshofener Straße).

history

The medieval history of Teublitz is linked to the Sinzenhofer family. These can be traced here from the 14th century. Ludwig von Sintzenhofer (1338), Heinrich von Sintzenhofen (1355), Eberhard der Sintzenhofer (1393), Hans der Sintzenhofer (1411) and Ulrich Sintzenhofer (1433) are mentioned.

After the founding of the Principality of Palatinate-Neuburg , Teublitz came under the rule of the Dukes Ottheinrich and Philipp von der Pfalz, who also introduced the Reformation in Teublitz . In 1533 Albrecht von Güllen became lord of the court, followed in 1557 by Hans von Leublfing . Other Hofmark owners were Quirin Österreicher and Tobias Österreicher (1573–1583). At the beginning of the 17th century (1614) the Hofmark was sold to Count Adam von Herberstorff . On September 11, 1629 he sold the Hofmark to Wolf Siegmund Teufel von Pirkensee . The old castle was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . Under Karl Wilhelm Teufel von Pirkensee, the new Teublitz Castle was built nearby between 1750 and 1780 . The Hofmark came to the Barons of Gise in 1824 and then became the property of Count Wilderich von Walderdorff.

Old Teublitz Castle today

The exterior walls of the former three-story castle building have been preserved on three sides. In the quarry stone masonry above, you can see semicircular arched windows and small nicks from the 13th century. A memorial plaque from 1799 with the following inscription is attached to the walls:

IN MEMORIAM INCLYTAE GENTIS ET STIRPIS EIVS VLTIMI PHILIPPI WOLFG. TEVFFEL A PIRCKENSEE REI MILITARIS FRIDERICI MAGNI BORVSSIAE REGIS PRAEFECTI GRATA POSVIT FRIDERICA I. VDOVICA ERNESTINA A KOCH NATA BRANDENSTEINIA EX SORORE FILIA ET AVITAE HVIVS SEDIS HAERDES ANNO DOMINI MDCC "
