Fronhof is a district of the municipality Altendorf in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf and a member of the administrative community Nabburg .

geography

Fronhof is located in the Oberpfalz-Mitte region, southeast of the city of Nabburg . All that remains of the historic Fronhof Castle is the remains of the wall overgrown by grass and built over by agricultural buildings. The small castle chapel is in the center of the village. The place is on the Murach , a tributary of the Schwarzach . State road 2159 from Oberviechtach to Zangenstein leads past the place.

history

Numerous finds show prehistoric settlements (e.g. Uckersdorf) along the river Schwarzach. These settlements have been scientifically proven by finds since the Bronze Age . The place Fronhof is a clearing settlement. To the 11./12. The beginning of the century clearing wave with the "richt" - and - "ried" -Orten joined in the 13./14. The expansion settlements of the - "hofen" and " -hof " places, of which there are a number in the municipality of Altendorf, were built in the 19th century .

Fronhof was owned by the Zenger . Friedrich der Zenger is mentioned in 1356 , Jordan der Zenger in 1359, Andre der Zenger in 1377 and Allt der Zenger in 1383. The Leuchtenberger Lehenbuch reports on a castle "Frunhof and what belongs to it" .

In 1419 Stephan von Pertolzhofen is named as the owner of Fronhof. The first fief deed dates from 1524 . The deed lists what belongs to the fiefdom. "... the veste to the Fronhove and the Schetzenpuchel, also a hove to the Fronhove and two teyle of the Tafern and a fief there, ..." . The Pertolzhofer owned the Fronhof estate until 1669.

Hans Jocob Miller von Altammerthal received the fief in the following period. Anna Maria Renata von Freudenberg followed, later her son Wolf Albrecht von Freudenberg took over the property. In 1765 the Fronhof estate was sold to Wolf Christoph Freiherrn von Bernclau for 32,300 guilders .

In 1794 there was an exchange deal. Joseph Freiherr von Karg was to take over Fronhof. In return, Caspar von Bernclau received the Reichenstein and Frauenstein fiefs from Stadlern . Baron von Karg died, so ownership passed to Maria Anna von Karg. His successor was Baron Theobald von Anethan.

The castle buildings were demolished in 1947, today only the castle chapel exists, which was built in 1729 and renovated by the castle chapel association in 1999/2000.

On July 1, 1972, the previously independent place was incorporated into the Altendorf community.
