MX Machine is an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles , California that was formed in 1985, split up in 1989, and reunited in 2007.
history
The band was formed in 1985 by bassist Diego Negrete, singer Lee Kaiser, guitarist Mitch Rellas and drummer Sam Monarez. Monarez was replaced shortly thereafter by Danny Anaya, who previously worked for Abattoir . After that, the first demo, Fatal Mistake, was recorded under the direction of producer Bill Metoyer , which led to a contract with Restless Records in 1987.
In 1988 the release of the debut album Manic Panic followed . The song Psychotic Killing Machine was used on the soundtrack to the film Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III , and Kick You in the Face was used for Under the Boardwalk . After a tour in 1989, work began on a second album. However, the contract with the label broke up in the same year, so the album was not released and the band broke up in the same year.
In 2007, Negrete revived the band with guitarists Larry Arrieta, Kristen Meyers and drummer Joe Montelongo ( EvilDead ). Negrete was now not only the bass player, but also the singer of the band. Further line-up changes followed, as well as appearances with bands such as Saxon , Helmet , Accept , Agent Steel , (hed) pe , Winger and Y&T . In 2011, the band went into the studio with producer Bill Metoyer to record the EP Devils Highway .
style
The band plays normal Thrash Metal, with some elements from classic Heavy Metal being used.
