Prison Center Lower Saxony

The Prison Center of Lower Saxony (MRVZN) refers to three institutions of the Prison Center of the State of Lower Saxony within the scope of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Equality :

  • MRVZN Moringen ( Specialized Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Moringen of the Prison Center Lower Saxony ) in Moringen (with branch offices in Hanover and Göttingen )
  • MRVZN Brauel ( Specialized Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Brauel of the Prison Center Lower Saxony ) in Brauel
  • MRVZN Bad Rehburg ( Specialized Hospital for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Bad Rehburg of the Prison Center Lower Saxony ) in Bad Rehburg

Together, the three locations of the MRVZN have 515 places for the treatment of persons with mental disorders admitted according to § 63 and § 64 StGB .

With 408 beds , the MRVZN Moringen is the largest correctional facility in Lower Saxony.
