Małgorzata Kowalczyk

Małgorzata Ewa Kowalczyk (* 1974 ) is a Polish historian who specializes in recent Polish history. She is a lecturer at the University of Wroclaw.

biography

Małgorzata Ewa Kowalczyk was born in Ziębice (German Münsterberg in Lower Silesia ). After graduating from high school in 1993, she studied history at the University of Wroclaw from 1994 and finished her studies in 1999 with a master's degree. In 1998 she received a scholarship from the Wroclaw University and studied at the Belarusian State University in Minsk . She then completed her doctoral studies, obtained her doctorate in 2003 and received a doctorate in humanistic science for her dissertation with the title Obraz Włoch w polskim piśmiennictwie geograficznym i podróżni czym osiemnastego wieku ( The Image of Italy in the Polish-Geographical and Tourist Literature of the 18th Century ) in recent history. Your doctoral supervisor was Bogdan Rok. Since 2004 she has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Polish and Modern History (16th to 18th Century) at the University of Wroclaw. In 2006 she received a scholarship from the Lanckoroński Foundation in Rome. In 2008 she completed a didactic internship as part of the LLP Erasmus program in Sicily at the University of Catania . In 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 she completed an academic internship at the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv (Ukraine). In 2010 and 2011 she completed a scientific internship at the Lithuanian University of Education and in 2011 moved to the State University of Saint Petersburg (Russia).

Kowalczyk is particularly interested in the history of travel, the history of women and families in Poland at that time, the history of everyday life in modern times, cultural relations between Poland and Italy, ethnic minorities in the time of the Royal Republic from the 16th century .
