The seventh season of the American action television series MacGyver comprises 14 episodes and was first broadcast in the United States in 1991/92 and in Germany in 1992.

MacGyver's friend Abe Sherman works for the CIA and wants to arrest the dictatorial president of the Caribbean island state of San Rochelle. To get there, he steals a helicopter with secret military technology on US soil. MacGyver involuntarily accompanies him there. US agents are pursuing him in order to liquidate him. After Abe and MacGyver arrive, the President learns, contrary to Abe's intention, that Abe works for the CIA. That's why the president wants to execute the two and the other agents on the gallows. MacGyver thwarts this by using the helicopter's technology and uses it to help Abe and himself escape.

MacGyver is able to destroy a missile intended to hit the country to overthrow Robles' government. Eventually MacGyver is able to thwart his murder by Murdoc, who falls down a slope in an exploding car, but survives anyway.

Mama Lorraine allegedly works there as an indoctrinated priestess and finally manages to get Cherine back to life. MacGyver, Lorraine and Cherine eventually flee.

MacGyver learns from a genealogist that his family tree can be traced back to the 17th century, when he has an ancestor named Ian MacGyver. In the 7th century there is a clan with the surname M'Yver, including Ian M'Yver. Both Ian MacGyver and Ian M'Yver have a son with the same first name as MacGyver's first name. On the street, while trying to save people from a falling object, MacGyver himself is badly hit in the head and passed out. He dreams of himself as MacGyver in the 7th century in Camelot , where King Arthur, who is very similar to Pete, rules as Lord of the Round Table . MacGyver uses an antidote to prevent Artur from dying from poisoning. Then he proves, among other things by carrying out electrophoresis , that the assassin is not the alchemist and magician Merlin , but the knight Duncan. This acted on behalf of Arthur's malicious stepsister Queen Morgana , who holds the woman Cecilia prisoner.
