Fritz Grub called Schnäger (born November 20, 1883 in Limbach , today Kirkel , † March 19, 1962 ibid) was a German baker and politician of the Christian People's Party of Saarland .

Life

Grub attended elementary school in Limbach and learned to be a baker from his father . After attending the School of Agriculture in Two Bridges and the passing of military service, he worked in several bakeries and closed his master's examination with distinction. In 1906 he was involved in the establishment of TV 06 Limbach, where he served as gymnastics warden and from 1913 to 1926 as chairman. In 1908 he founded his own bakery with a farm in Limbach, and in the same year he married Berta Leibrock. In 1914, shortly after the outbreak of World War I , he was drafted into military service. Right at the beginning he was wounded so badly that his right leg had to be amputated . Nevertheless, he later continued his professional activity.

Grub began his political career in 1923 in the Limbach municipal council and in the district assembly, which later became the district assembly. After he had run unsuccessfully for the municipal council in 1920, he succeeded in entering both councils three years later, and in 1926 he was also elected to the district committee. In 1927 he founded the Limbach- Altstadt dairy cooperative , which he also served as chairman. In the same year he was elected mayor of Limbach by the local council. In 1933 Grub also took over the office of chairman of the Limbacher Raiffeisenkasse . After the pro-German referendum in the Saar area in 1935, the National Socialists removed him from the mayor's office. After the invasion of the Americans, he was reappointed mayor by them in 1945. In the same year he took over the chairmanship of the district guild association in Homburg . After the municipal council elections in 1946, his party, the CVP, did not receive a majority, so that he was voted out of the mayor's office with the votes of the SPS and KP . But he remained a simple member of the parish council for several years. In 1947 he was elected to the first state parliament of Saarland , to which he was a member until the end of the 1952 electoral term.
