MacLysaght & Douglas was an assembly plant for motor vehicles and thus part of the automotive industry in Ireland . This company name is given on two advertisements for the company from 1937. However, there is also an older advert from 1934 with McLysaght & Douglas .

Company history

The company was based in Dublin . The first known mention comes from 1926. In 1933 the assembly of automobiles began. The parts came first from Peugeot , later also from Hupmobile , Daimler-Benz and Renault . Production ended in 1939. Then the track of the company is lost.

vehicles

Peugeot was built from 1933 to 1939. On the one hand the 301 and on the other hand a model from 1937 with an engine rated 12.8 RAC Horsepower have been handed down.

The construction time for Hupmobile is given from 1934 to 1936. In the first year it was the Series 421-J with a six-cylinder engine . The limousine offered space for six people. A cheaper model followed in 1935.

Mercedes-Benz models were assembled from 1935 to 1939. The Mercedes-Benz 200 is secure , because one of the vehicles still exists in the Motor Distributors museum . In 1937 a sedan with 13.4 RAC hp was advertised.

Renault was produced from 1937 to 1938.
