MacSoft was an American video game developer and publisher; in the late 1990s, around 40% of the games that appeared on the US market were published for Mac OS by MacSoft.

history

MacSoft was founded in 1993 by Peter Tamte as a subsidiary of WizardWorks and specialized in the development of video game ports from Microsoft Windows to MacOS. In 1996, WizardWorks was taken over by GT Interactive , with WizardWorks and MacSoft being divided into different operating modes. On January 30th, 2003 MacSoft was taken over by Destineer and the founder Peter Tamte took over the management of the company again. In 2011 the studio was closed by Destineer.
