Maceo Rigters (born January 22, 1984 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player.

Career

Rigters began his professional career at SC Heerenveen . He made his debut in the 2003/04 season, but was only used in two games. In the 2004/05 season he moved to FC Dordrecht . There the striker scored 8 goals in 17 games and was then signed by NAC Breda , where he played until 2007.

For the 2007/08 season he moved to Blackburn Rovers . There he came only to two appearances in the Premier League and was loaned to Norwich City for a month in 2008 and to the second division club Barnsley FC before the start of the subsequent 2008/09 season. For the entire 2010/11 season, Willem II Tilburg was another loan club. In 2011 he finally left Blackburn permanently and moved to the Australian professional league A-League for Gold Coast United .

In 2007 Rigters was appointed to the Jong Oranje , the U21 team of the Netherlands. In the same year he won the U-21 European Football Championship with the team in 2007 , in which he was named the top scorer of the tournament with 4 goals in 5 games and was voted Man of the Game twice .
