Madeleine Jakits

Madeleine Jakits (born January 1, 1955 in Zurich ) is an Austrian lifestyle journalist. She is editor-in-chief of the special interest magazine Der Feinschmecker, published by the Jahreszeiten Verlag in Hamburg, and was a wine gourmet until 2009 .

Career

Jakits was born as the daughter of the physicist Otto Jakits, who fled Hungary in 1946. She attended schools in Neuchâtel, London and, most recently, Hamburg, where she passed her A- levels at the Oberalster grammar school. She then completed a teaching degree with the subjects English, German and pedagogy, which she did not continue after the first state examination.

In 1981 she became an editor at Time-Life-Bücher in Hamburg. In 1983 she switched to the women's magazine Brigitte, published by Gruner + Jahr , as editor . In 1988 she joined the Feinschmecker editorial team, and in 1994 she became text editor and deputy editor-in-chief.

She has been editor-in-chief of Feinschmecker since May 1997 .

Jakits lives in Hamburg-Harvestehude .
