Margaret Naomi Titheradge (born July 2, 1887 in Melbourne , † November 14, 1961 in Fetcham , Surrey ) was an Australian - British theater and film actress .

Madge Titheradge was the daughter of the actor George Sutton Titheradge (1848-1916) and his wife Alma Maria Johanna Santon (1849-1922). She had five sisters, Lilian (* 1877), Sylvia (* 1882), Frances (* 1883), Evelyn (* 1885) and Alexandra Nina (* 1888) as well as a brother Dion (1889-1934) who was also an actor. In addition, she had two stepbrothers, Henry Augustus Lionel (* 1873) and Sutton Wallace (* 1877) and a stepsister Henriette Louise (* 1875) from her father's first marriage. She spent her childhood in Australia until the family moved to Great Britain in 1898.

On March 8, 1910, she married the actor Charles Quatermaine . The marriage ended in divorce in 1918. In 1928 she married the American businessman Edgar Park, with whom she was married until his death in 1938.

She made her theatrical debut at London's Garrick Theater in 1902 in the musical The Water Babies . In the following years she could be seen in various stage plays such as Henry V , Gamblers All , Grounds for Divorce , Theater Royal and The Promise . Here she appeared with such prominent actors as Gerald du Maurier , Laurence Olivier , George Zucco and Ralph Richardson . Theater tours have taken her to Australia , the USA and Canada . She made her film debut in 1915 in the role of Countess de Rochequelaune in the film Brigadier Gerard . Further films in Great Britain and the USA followed. She had her last appearance in a film in 1920. She then returned to the stage until she retired into private life in 1938 for health reasons.
