Madison Sarah Sołow (born May 30, 1992 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian - Polish soccer player .

Life

Sołow attended Vaughan Road Academy in York , Ontario for a year before moving to Florida in 2005. After graduating from IMG Academy High School in Bradenton , Florida in 2010, she enrolled at the University of Florida in the field of social and behavioral sciences before moving to UC Irvine in 2011 , where she spent three years in criminology , Law and Society. During the 2011 semester break, she worked as a volunteer for the non-profit organization Generation Joy as an English teacher in KwaZulu-Natal ( South Africa ). In 2015 Sołow left North America and went to Iceland and Italy , where she has been working as an English teacher at the Green School in Verona since September 2016, alongside her football career .

Career

Sołow started her career at the National Training Center Ontario (NTCO) in Toronto before moving to the United States at the age of 13 and working for the IMG Soccer Academy for three years . She then played from 2009 to 2010 with her compatriot Nicole Hill for the Sereno Soccer Club in Arizona . In addition, she ran for six months in 2005 for the Vaughan Road Vipers, the women's soccer team at Vaughan Road Academy, and four years for the IMG Ancestors, the women's soccer team at IMG Academy High School in Florida . Sołow played for the Florida Gators after graduating from high school and for three years between 2011 and 2014 for the UC Anteaters , where she played for ANB Futbol and Young Gunners FC in the Toronto Outdoor Soccer League during the 2013 semester break. During the 2014 semester break, she played first for the Toronto Lady Lynx and then from June to August for FC Smokey in the Downsview Park Adult Soccer League. After graduating from university in 2014, she moved from North America to Iceland to Þróttur Reykjavík in April 2015 and did 11 assignments in the Pepsi-deild kvenna until September 2015. On 18 September 2015 she moved from Iceland in the Italian Serie B to Fimauto Valpolicella SSD , reaching the victory in the group and direct promotion to the top Italian women's league with him 2016/2017 Serie A . On September 29, 2017, Solow signed a new two-year contract with Valpolicella . On August 16, 2018, Solow signed with FC Basel in Switzerland .

International

Sołow was appointed to Canada's U-17 national team in 2009. In May 2009 she received her first nomination for the senior team of Canada under Carolina Morace for a sighting camp in Toronto . A year later, Solow came for the Canadian U-18 national team at the U-18 camp in Alliston , Ontario in two friendly matches. She then moved to the Polish association in the summer of 2015 and was nominated for the Polish national football team for the Balaton Cup on July 17, 2015 . She made her debut for Poland on August 5, 2015 in the final of the Balaton Cup against the Slovak national women's football team . On October 22, 2015, another game followed in the 2015 World Cup qualification, also against Slovakia, where she came on for Katarzyna Daleszczyk in added time.

As a trainer

Sołow worked from May 2007 to May 2010 as a youth trainer (6- to 17-year-olds) for the Toronto- based Andriene Serioux Academy.
