Mafana is an uninhabited island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu .
geography
Mafana is located south of the main island of Vavaʻu between the islands of ʻOloʻua and Ofu . In the east there is a wide reef fringe with the islands of Kenutu and Umuna .
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vavaʻu group, Mafana is occasionally hit by cyclones .
