Magda Gessler

Magda Daria Gessler (born July 10, 1953 in Komorów in the powiat Pruszkowski as Magdalena Daria Ikonowicz ) is a Polish cook and restaurant owner. She became known in Poland through participating in various cooking shows and taking on the lead role in the reality TV program "Kuchenne rewolucje" (Kitchen Revolutions), which has been broadcast since 2010 .
Life
Gessler is the daughter of the Italian-Polish journalist Mirosław Ikonowicz and the Russian Olga Borkowska, who was born near Warsaw. Her mother was a cook; she has another brother, the politician Piotr Ikonowicz. The daughter grew up because of her father's job (correspondent at Polska Agencja Prasowa ) in Sofia and Havana, among others . In 1972 she moved to Madrid , where she studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando . In the 1980s she married the German journalist Volkhart Müller, who worked as a correspondent for Der Spiegel in Madrid. After his death, she returned to Poland in the late 1980s and married the Polish restaurateur Piotr Gessler, from whom she divorced. Her third husband is the Polish-Canadian doctor Waldemar Kozerawski. She has a son and a daughter.
Gessler operates restaurants in several Polish cities. These include (2019) Zielnik Cafe , U Fukiera and Ale Gloria in Warsaw, Polka in Żelazowa Wola , Kryształowa in Katowice and Santo Porto in Gdynia . She edited several cookbooks ("Kuchnia moja pasja" (2005), "Kocham gotować - Magdy Gessler przepis na życie" (2007)) and wrote articles on culinary topics in the magazines Wprost and Newsweek Polska . In 2010 she was honored by the Polish Minister of Agriculture, Marek Sawicki, for her commitment to promoting Polish food.
