Żelazowa Wola is a village in the municipality of Sochaczew , Masovian Voivodeship , Poland , with 65 inhabitants. The first mention of the village comes from the second half of the 16th century.
Żelazowa Wola became known as the birthplace of the composer Frédéric Chopin . In 1894, a Chopin monument was inaugurated here in the presence of the Russian composer Mili Alexejewitsch Balakirew . In July 1969, 14 years after its creation, the Frédéric Chopin Monument was unveiled by Józef Gosławski . It is located in the park adjacent to Chopin's birthplace. Today there is a museum in the house.
