History and description
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 13 was built in 1606 . Stylistically, the building belongs to the Renaissance . The house comes from the first phase of construction in the old suburb and was partially destroyed in the Second World War. After the war the building was rebuilt.
In 1985 the building was renovated, the renaissance gable was reconstructed , the side walls were built as a visible framework . Inside, the original was spiral staircase made of oak restored and reinstalled. The facade is plastered .
Monument protection
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 13 is a typical example of the renaissance style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .
