The RT Emotion is a tug from the Dutch tugboat company Kotug , which, as a rotor tug , has an environmentally friendly hybrid drive.

The hull was built at Nauta Shipyard in Gdynia and completed at Damen Shipyards in Hardinxveld . The construction cost around one million euros.
The ART 80-32 tractor is a further development of the 2011 conversion of the RT Adriaan tractor into a hybrid tractor in order to achieve a further reduction in carbon dioxide emissions .
Technical data and equipment
The tractor has a hybrid drive consisting of 18 lithium polymer battery banks from the Canadian manufacturer Corvus, three Caterpiller diesel engines and shaft generators . The 18 accumulators have a capacity of 6.5 kWh (117 kWh) and a bus voltage of 450 V . The three shaft generators can also work as electric motors and each have a nominal output of 500 kW .
It is driven by three Caterpillar -Hauptmaschinen type 3512 C with each 1,765 kW power at 1800 min -1 to three Z-Drive Type SRP 3000 FP with 2.3 m diameter.
Two Caterpillar diesel generators are available for power generation: a Caterpillar C18 TA with 450 kW power (575 kVA apparent power ) and a Caterpillar C9 TA with 200 kW power (250 kVA apparent power).
The tug has a bollard pull of around 80 tons.
