Magdeburger Strasse 18–19 (Hundisburg)
The listed semi-detached house Magdeburger Straße 18/19 in the Haldensleben district of Hundisburg is a former farm building of the Hundisburg Castle estate . In the local register of monuments , the building is registered as valuable in terms of urban development and cultural history.
The property is located on Magdeburger Straße below the Burgberg, about 50 meters after the start of the street on the main street ( Magdeburger Tor ) and 200 meters before the junction of the castle driveway at the so-called farm workers' cottage . Behind the building is the lower courtyard of the palace, which was first built in the 19th century , in the place of which there was previously a pleasure garden of the palace that was accessed via the bridge function of the Magdeburg Gate.

The approximately 30 meter long farm building was erected in the 18th century in a simple, single-storey quarry stone construction with a hipped roof ; It is a semi-detached house, which was initially used as an estate forester's and farrier's shop and as living space for the families of these two estate employees. After Hermann von Nathusius cleared the nearby “Gräwig” manor forest , the forester's family moved to the forester's lodge, which was newly built in 1845, around a kilometer away on the edge of the landscape park . Today the building is used as a residence for two families; A two-story house was added to the east-facing gable side in the 20th century.
The former farm building is closely connected to the history of the Hundisburg, which also serves as a hunting lodge. It is primarily of importance in terms of urban planning and cultural history. Due to the good state of delivery and the characteristic location on the edge of the castle district, it is of high documentation value.
