Magical Girl Site ( Japanese 魔法 少女 サ イ ト Mahō Shōjo Saito ) is a manga series by the Japanese artist Kentarō Satō . The series, which can be classified into the genres of horror and drama, is about young girls who become “ magical girls ” through a mysterious website . The offshoot Magical Girl Site Sept came out in 2017 and an anime series on the manga in 2018 .

The student Aya Asagiri lives in a nightmare : Every day she is bullied by her classmates at school and at home she is abused by her older brother Kaname . One day, a mysterious website appears on her computer - the Magical Girl Site. Aya wants to give her guardian a wand with which she can become a magical girl. The next day, Aya actually finds a wand in the form of a pistol in her locker, which she uses shortly afterwards in self-defense against her tormentors. When they want to take revenge on Aya , she is saved at the last moment by her classmate Tsuyuno Yatsumura . She explains to Aya that the mysterious website also made her a magical girl and that she is not her enemy. The two become friends and try to find out what the Magical Girl Site is all about. In addition, Aya and Tsuyuno have to fight against other Magical Girls again and again. Her most dangerous opponents are Aya's former tormentor Sarina Shizukume and the informant Rina Shioi , who has changed her shape with the help of a magic wand.

The manga, aimed at a younger, male audience, has been released in Japan on July 18, 2013. The chapters are initially published by Akita Shoten on the Champion Tap! and later published in eleven edited volumes. The first volume was published in German under the title Magical Girl Site on May 12, 2016 at Tokyopop ; eleven volumes have been published so far. A French translation is published by Akata .

From October 2017 to August 2018, Champion Tap also released the spin-off series Magical Girl Site Sept , drawn by Toshinori Sogabe . The chapters were later published in two edited volumes, which were published in German by Tokyopop in January and October 2019.

Anime

Studio Production dóA produced a 12-part anime adaptation of the manga under the direction of Tadahito Matsubayashi . The main author was Takayo Ikami and the character design is by Sakae Shibuya . Minoru Akiba was the artistic director . The series aired from April 6 to June 23, 2018 on AT-X , Aomori Television Broadcasting Co , BS-TBS , MBS , SBS and TBS . The platform Amazon Prime Video published the anime internationally, including with German and English subtitles.

The music in the series was composed by Keiji Inai . The opening credits are underlaid with the song Changing point by i ☆ Ris and the closing title is Zenzen Tomodachi by Haruka Yamazaki.
