Magnús Helgi Bergs (born August 27, 1956 ) is a former Icelandic football player .

Career

Magnús Bergs started his career at Valur Reykjavík before moving abroad in 1980. His first stop was the German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . Here, however, he could not prevail and only came to a total of two appearances in the league. After two years in Dortmund, he moved to the Belgian first division club KSK Tongeren in 1982 . After the club's relegation, he joined the traditional Spanish club Racing Santander in the Segunda División in 1983 . After the rise of Santander in 1984, Magnús returned to Germany, where he played for Eintracht Braunschweig . Here, however, he was only a substitute player again and left the club after six appearances in the Bundesliga and one game in the DFB Cup during the 1984/85 season. Magnús returned to Iceland, where he ended his football career.

Magnús was a total of 16 times in the national football team of Iceland , scoring two goals.
