Magnesia is a mineral water brand of the Czech company Karlovarské minerální vody (German: Karlsbader Mineralwässer).

The source of the natural mineral water Magnesia is near the West Bohemian town of Mnichov u Mariánských Lázní (Einsiedel) near the bathing resort Marienbad ; in the landscape of the Kaiserwald .

history

The commercial use of mineral water at Einsiedel has been documented since 1893. At that time the source was called Green Sourling . Engelbert Zuleger has been exporting the mineral water nationwide since 1899. In 1928 the Löser family modernized the bottling facility, which significantly increased sales. The State Enterprise West Bohemian Springs ( státní podnik Západočeská zřídla ) initiated a new borehole in 1990 in the headwaters of the previous well. As a result, the bottling and shipping of the mineral water was taken over by the Karlsbader Mineralwässer company.

The bottling company is a joint stock company under Czech law, Karlovarské minerální vody, as It is the largest mineral water company in the Czech Republic and its origins go back to the founder Heinrich Mattoni . However, the owner since 1994 has been the KMV Group (KMV - Karlovarské minerální vody ) under the Italian general manager Alessandro Pasquale.

Between 1999 and 2001 the entrepreneur Pasquale sen. in Mnichov a completely new factory location for bottling the mineral water. Internationally, numerous brands belong to the KMV Group.

The mineral water filled in PET bottles is distributed primarily by Karlovarské minerální vody , in Germany by Karlsbad Mineralwasser GmbH in Schönefeld and in Austria by Waldquelle Kobersdorf GmbH based in Kobersdorf in Burgenland .
