Magnus I (Mecklenburg)
Magnus I, Duke of Mecklenburg (around 1345 ; † September 1, 1384 ) was Duke of Mecklenburg from 1383 until his death.
Magnus was the third son of Duke Albrecht II of Mecklenburg and his wife Eufemia , who was a sister of the Swedish King Magnus Eriksson . He was married to Elisabeth von Pommern-Wolgast, the daughter of Duke Barnim IV (after 1362). He had two children:
- Johann IV. , Regent from 1384 to 1395 and co-regent from 1395 to 1422
- Euphemia († October 16, 1417); ∞ on October 18, 1397 with Balthasar , Herr zu Werle
After the death of his brother Heinrich III. Together with his son Albrecht IV , he took over the government of the duchy for a short time from 1383 until his death in 1384.
