Magnus Kihlstedt (born February 29, 1972 in Munkedal , Sweden ) is a former Swedish football goalkeeper .

career

Kihlstedt played in his youth at Munkedals IF before he signed his first professional contract with IK Oddevold . In 1997 he moved to the Norwegian Tippeligaen to Lillestrøm SK , where he was active for two seasons. In 1999 he moved to league rivals Brann Bergen , where he was runner-up in 2000. In 2001 he went to Denmark for FC København . With the club he became Danish champions in 2003 and 2004, and in 2004 he also won the cup. In 2005 he ended his career.

Kihlstedt has guarded the Swedish national team's goal a total of 13 times since his debut against the United States in 1998 . As a substitute for Magnus Hedman , he was in the national team at the 2002 World Cup . He was also part of the Swedish squad at the 2004 European Championship , but this time Andreas Isaksson had to be preferred.
