Mahan or Māhān ( Persian ماهان) is a small town about 35 kilometers southeast of Kerman in the province of the same name . The oasis is known on the one hand for the burial place of the Sufi order founder Nemat Ollah-e Valis (1331–1431) and on the other hand for the Shahzadeh garden located six kilometers to the south .
Burial place of Nemat Ollah-e Vali
The tomb of the Shah Only ed-Din Nemat Ollah-e Vali - a Persian poet , scholar and founder of the Shiite Sufi Ni'matullāhī - is a complex construction, whose famous dome and twin minarets fully with turquoise tiles are covered. The mausoleum ( Qubba ) was built by Ahmad Shah Vali in 1436. Expansions and renovations of the building, especially the dome, made during the reign of the Safavid -Königs Shah Abbas I in 1601. The addition of minarets in combination with other courts dates back to the Qajar under Muhammad Shah Qajar and Naser ad-Din Shah . The place is still visited by many pilgrims today.
