The Mahndorfer Marsch is a local recreation area that has been partially designated as a landscape protection area since 1968 . It extends south-east from Bremen to Achim along the Weser .
General
Large parts of the Mahndorfer Marsch form a local recreation area in the Hemelingen district of Bremen . North of the march is the highway A 1 , followed by the Mahndorfer See . The Weser flows through the southern part of the protected area. It is characterized by many smaller bodies of water and serves as a resting place for migratory birds. Entering this area is prohibited. In terms of nature, the landscape is part of the Weser-Aller-Aue.
