Maik Koehler

Maik Köhler (born September 15, 1976 in Siegen ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). Since January 1, 2018, he has been mayor of the Kirchen (Sieg) association .

Life and work

After graduating from high school Auf der Morgenröthe in Siegen in 1996, Köhler joined the high-ranking police service of the State of Hesse. He studied at the administrative college in Wiesbaden and graduated in 1999 with a degree in administrative management (FH). As a police officer, Köhler worked at the police headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and at the police headquarters in Central Hesse .

Maik Köhler is married and has two daughters.

Party and politics

Köhler joined the CDU in 1999. In the 2004 local elections, he was elected honorary mayor of his home town of Mudersbach . In 2009 Köhler was re-elected with 78.14 percent and in 2014 with 80.6 percent.

In the mayoral election on September 24, 2017, Köhler was elected as mayor candidate with 54.5 percent of the votes against the incumbent and one other candidate for mayor of the Association of Churches .

Köhler has been a member of the Altenkirchen district council since 2004 .
