Maik Kowalleck (born August 2, 1974 in Saalfeld / Saale ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2009 .

Career

Kowalleck, who had been a member of the Junge Union since 1992 , graduated from the Erasmus Reinhold Gymnasium in Saalfeld in 1993 . After completing his military service, he completed an apprenticeship as an office communications clerk in Saalfeld from 1994 to 1997. He has been working as a freelancer since 1998. He graduated as a financial specialist in 2003 and a degree in business administration in 2006. Since 2007 Kowalleck has been a student of political and administrative sciences at the Distance University in Hagen .

Kowalleck has been a member of the CDU since 1995, and has been a member of the Saalfeld city council since 1997, where he is currently chairman of the audit committee. In 2004 he also became a member of the district council in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district . From 2006 to 2009 he was CDU district manager in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district association.

Since the state election in Thuringia in 2009 , Kowalleck has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament. He won the direct mandate in the constituency of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt II . After the state elections in 2019 , Kowalleck was elected Parliamentary Managing Director of the CDU parliamentary group. He did not run for the election of the parliamentary group executive on March 2, 2020.

From 2003 to 2009, Kowalleck was both a member of the supervisory board of the Saalfelder Feengrotten und Tourismus GmbH and an honorary judge at the Gera Administrative Court .

Volunteering

Kowalleck is a member of the Thuringian Sea e. V. and also in the Friends of Theater Rudolstadt e. V. He is also involved in the medium-sized and business association of the CDU.
