Mailbox extension

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mailbox direct dialing is a functionality in cellular networks that enables a caller to be connected directly to the voice mailbox (the virtual answering machine ) of the called subscriber without a connection being established to his or her mobile device . A message can be left on the voice mailbox without the called party's device ringing.

To use the mailbox extension, a sequence of digits that depends on the original mobile phone company must be inserted between the area code and the rest of the mobile phone number.

In Germany, the digit sequences for T-Mobile (D1-Netz) are 13, for Vodafone (D2-Netz) 50, for E-Plus (E-Netz) 99 and for O 2 ( Telefónica Germany ) (E2-Netz) 33.

In Austria : for the area codes 0664 ( A1 ) and 0680 ( bob ) 77, for 0676 ( magenta ) 22, for 0650 ( tele.ring ) 11, for 0699 ( orange ) 3 (0699 3 instead of 0699 1), for 0660 ( Three ) 33.

In Switzerland, dial 086 for all mobile numbers before entering the actual area code, e.g. E.g .: 086 07 xxxxxxxx
