Main Mobile is the common name of two transport companies for public transport in the neighboring towns of Frankfurt and Offenbach am Main .

Citaro

The Main Mobil Frankfurt GmbH (MMF) and the Main Mobile Offenbach GmbH (MMO) are in 2004 as a product and means of closer integration of the two transport companies transport company Frankfurt ( VGF ) and Offenbacher Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH ( OVB was founded). VGF is 100% owned by Stadtwerke Frankfurt Holding , OVB is 100% owned by NiO - Nahverkehr in Offenbach GmbH (NiO).

Unlike the VGF and the OVB, MMF and MMO are not bound by the collective agreement for the public service, they pay according to the LHO tariff - or based on it.

Emergence

MMF was initially founded as aquila Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH . On November 24, 2004, 100% of the capital was transferred to VGF, the capital was increased to 204,100 euros, and the company was renamed Main Mobil Frankfurt GmbH . The MMO was founded on March 24, 2004 as quercus service company mbH with a share capital of 25,000 euros. On October 14, 2004, the capital was transferred to Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding (SOH), the capital was also increased to 204,100 euros, and the company was renamed Main Mobil Offenbach GmbH . Currently (2016) NiO is the parent company of OVB in the mobility division.

According to this, VGF hold 51% of the shares in MMF, and with a share of 100,000 euros 49% of MMO, and SOH (Stadtwerke Offenbach Holding) with a share of 100,000 euros 49% of the shares in MMF and 51% in MMO. At the same time, VGF received a share of almost 49% in OVB. This interdependence no longer exists.

The antitrust approval of the integration of VGF and OVB took place in 2005 and the capital movements were completed in 2006. The appeal by Deutsche Bahn AG was rejected by the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court in 2005.

business

The depot in Offenbacher Hebestraße is the home of Main-Mobil-Offenbach GmbH

With the timetable change on December 12, 2004, MMF and MMO started operations, initially without the capital links that had already been decided.

Main Mobil Frankfurt currently serves the lines 38, 42, 43, 44, n5, n62 and n63 , so lines in the eastern city of Frankfurt on behalf of the in-the-City Bus GmbH with 27 borrowed from the VGF solo vehicles of the type MB Citaro with numbers 208, 211, 218, 252-275. Since the end of September 2011 the buses have been retrofitted with video cameras. The buses are only partially housed in the OVB's Hebestraße depot. Since October 2011 the 27 buses have also been running on the remaining lines of the line bundle D. The 108 drivers of the two Main-Mobil companies (57 MMF, 51 MMO, as of March 2007) are at home in Hebestraße and share the social and Working rooms with your colleagues from OVB. From Offenbacher Hebestraße, the buses have shorter distances to their locations than from the VGF bus depot in Frankfurt's Rebstock site.

The MainMobil Offenbach runs on all lines of the Offenbacher OVB. In December 2004, MMO had taken over most of the transport services that had previously been provided by Main-Bus GmbH (0.8 million bus km / year) and the Urberach bus operator Emil Lang (0.3 million bus km / year ) were driven. Main Bus GmbH was dissolved; OVB held 40% of the shares , Andreas Bonifer Spedition und Verkehrsunternehmen GmbH and Co. KG also held 40% and Verkehrsgesellschaft Untermain mbH (VU) held 20%.

Since the In-der-City-Bus won the line bundle D (30, 31, 36, 38, 42, 43, 44 and 75), 14 articulated buses from Mercedes-Benz Citaro and 17 solo vehicles from Solaris Urbino 12 were ordered . The vehicles have the numbers 413–426 and 111–127.

Today, MainMobil Offenbach operates the urban line traffic in Offenbach exclusively for OVB, with a few outbreak of traffic to Frankfurt and the Offenbach district. Foreign lines (VGF) have not been operated since 2015.
