In the Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main Holding GmbH (short: SWFH ) has the largest Hessian city of Frankfurt am Main pooled some of their equity investments.

Company structure

The holding company has six subsidiaries, the stake in brackets is given:

  • Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH (VGF), responsible for the provision of parts of local transport in Frankfurt am Main . The VGF operates the rail transport of the city of Frankfurt (100%) on a public service contract.
  • Mainova AG, responsible for supplying the city of Frankfurt and the surrounding area with natural gas , electricity , heat and drinking water . Today the sales area extends to a radius of approx. 100 kilometers around the city. (75.22%)
  • Bäderbetriebe Frankfurt GmbH (Frankfurter Bäder), responsible for the care and maintenance of the municipal swimming pools and adventure pools (100%).
  • Waste incineration plant Nordweststadt (AVA) (100%)
  • IN-DER-CITY-BUS GmbH (ICB), which has been commissioned by the city to operate some Frankfurt bus routes (100%)
  • Main Mobil Frankfurt GmbH (MMF), which also offers bus services.

A control and profit transfer agreement was concluded between Stadtwerke Holding and VGF, AVA and BBF . There is a profit transfer agreement between the holding company and Mainova.

On behalf of the city of Frankfurt, the holding also holds the shares in the most valuable stake held by the city of Frankfurt, Fraport AG (20.03%) and Süwag Energie AG (5.98%), the former Main-Kraftwerke AG.

The chairman of the supervisory board of SWF-Holding is Peter Feldmann by virtue of his office as Lord Mayor of Frankfurt.

Stadtwerke Frankfurt group of companies as a training company

The Stadtwerke Holding companies are among the largest training companies in the region. Every year around 80 young people begin training in a total of 14 technical and commercial professions, such as B.
