Mainpuri is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Mainpuri is located in the north Indian plain 100 km east of Agra . The city lies between the rivers of Yamuna and Ganges . Mainpuri is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
The national highway NH 91 ( Aligarh - Kanpur ) passes Mainpuri 15 km north. Mainpuri is on the Firozabad - Fatehgarh railway line .
Mainpuri as a city has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . It is divided into 25 wards . Mainpuri had 120,400 inhabitants at the 2011 census.
