Maison Henri II (Magny-en-Vexin)
The Maison Henri II building (German House of Henry II ) in Magny-en-Vexin , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built in 1555 (the year is on the gable under the elevator beam) built. The residential and commercial building on the corner of Rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville and Rue Carnot has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1965 .
The Renaissance- style house is attributed to the architect Jean Grappin , who at the time was also involved in the construction of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité church in Magny-en-Vexin. The building was built over a vaulted cellar of a 13th century house. Below the roof approach, a Doric frieze runs along the whole house. Inside there is still a decorated fireplace from the time it was built. The monogram H can be seen in the cartouche at the corner of the house, which is why the building was named Maison Henri II .
