Maja Lasić (born May 19, 1979 in Mostar , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and an elected member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

biography

Maja Lasić came to Germany as a refugee during the Bosnian War in 1993 . Here she continued to attend school and, after graduating from high school in Bielefeld, studied biology and chemistry from 1998 to 2003 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University with a diploma in biology. She received her doctorate in 2008 from the University of Stuttgart on a biochemical topic and then worked for a pharmaceutical company for two years . Then she got involved with Teach First Germany . From 2012 to 2016 she worked for the deputy Josip Juratovic .

Party and politics

Lasić was directly elected to the House of Representatives in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in the constituency Mitte 7 in 2016.
