The Majestueux was a sailing warship in the French Navy . With 110 cannons, she was one of the largest warships of her time. It was scrapped in 1808.

history

After the order was placed on April 20, 1780, the keel was laid in the Toulon naval shipyard on July 5, 1780. Its construction was part of an armament program in view of the conflict in America ( American War of Independence ).

In January 1781 she was completed and received her first captain in Toulon on February 4, 1781. In 1784 she was upgraded in Toulon, from a potential broadside of approx. 569 kg to approx. 578 kg.

In May 1797 it was renamed Republicain .

Repairs were made from 1799 to 1800. Your captain at that time was Charles Berrenger.

In May 1807 it was decommissioned and from 1808 it was scrapped.
