In Greek mythology , the Maches or Makhai ( ancient Greek Μάχαι ) are the daimones of fights and skirmishes.

In Hesiod's theogony , they are the sons or daughters of Eris , but are not named individually. In the shield of Heracles , Homados , Proioxis , Palioxis and Kydoimos are named as daimonies of the battles , but not explicitly designated as Maches.
