Malý Stožec (German Little Schöber ) (659 m above sea level ) is a prominent rocky mountain ridge made of phonolite ( Klingstein ) in the Lusatian Mountains ( Lužické hory ) in northern Bohemia ( Czech Republic ). From the south you can see a lying face in the silhouette of the mountain, from which the name face mountain is derived . On the south-east side there is Rauchfriedel's Chamber (Czech: Komora Fridolina Raucha ), a tectonic cleft cave .
Location and surroundings
The Malý Stožec southwest is 1.5 km of the mountain Jedlová ( Tannenberg ) about 8 km southwest of Varnsdorf ( Warnsdorf ). The Chřibská přehrada ( Kreibitzer Dam ) is located directly at the foot of the mountain . The route of the Bohemian Northern Railway runs along the south and west flanks .
Paths to the summit
- A yellow hiking route runs over the shoulder of the mountain , from which a marked junction leads to the summit.
- Good starting points for a hike to Malý Stožec are the train stations Jedlová and Chřibská on the Děčín - Rumburk railway line .
