The Jedlová ( German Tannenberg , 774.2 m) is the third highest mountain in the Lusatian Mountains . Typical is the evenly rounded conical shape of the mountain with the observation tower, which can also be seen from a distance.
The Czech and German names of the mountain are synonymous.
Location and surroundings
The Jedlová lies in front of the main ridge of the Lusatian Mountains to the north, about 8 km southwest of Varnsdorf ( Warnsdorf ) and 10 km north of Nový Bor ( Haida ). At the foot of the mountain is the town of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou ( Georgenthal ), directly under the north side of the mountain are the small towns Jedlová ( Tannendorf ), Rozhled ( Tollenstein ) and Lesné ( Innozenzidorf ). The Tollenstein castle ruins on the eastern shoulder of the mountain are well known .
history
In 1779, Emperor Joseph II stayed on the Tannenberg.
A first refuge was built on the mountain in 1888 by the Mountain Association for Northern Bohemia , three years later the stone lookout tower, which is still present today, was built. A little later a spacious mountain hut was built . In 1905 a memorial stone in honor of Friedrich Schiller was erected directly on the summit , which still exists today. After the Germans were expelled from Czechoslovakia after 1945, the buildings on the mountain were so neglected that only a ruin remained of the mountain hut, at the beginning of the 1990s only a few remains of the wall existed. The observation tower was extensively repaired in 1993 and has been accessible again since then. A little later, the reconstruction of the mountain inn began. Today the Jedlová is again one of the most important tourist destinations in the Lusatian Mountains.

Paths to the summit
- The best starting point is the community of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou, from there the hiking trail leads over the Křížová hora (Kreuzberg) with its beautiful Calvary to the summit.
- A good starting point is also the Jedlová train station in the middle of the forest on the Děčín – Varnsdorf railway line . From there, the route first leads over the wide Tolštejnská cesta , and then leads up on a steep path to the summit.
- The European long-distance hiking trails E3 from the Black Sea to Spain and E10 from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic cross on the mountain .
