history

In 1471, the settlement at the foot of Tollenstein Castle was first mentioned as Tollendorf . Some of the residents served in the castle, but also worked in the glassworks and mines of St.Georgenthal . A meierhof once existed directly under the castle. Its land was sold to new settlers by Christoph von Schleinitz (noble family) in 1571 .

After Aifhebung the basic rule in 1849 was Tollenstein together with the nearby Innozenzendorf (now Lesné ) into an independent municipality in the judicial district Warnsdorf to which from 1869 also fir village (now Jedlová ) belonged.

After the expulsion of the German residents after the Second World War , the depopulated place was incorporated into Jiřetín pod Jedlovou ( St. Georgenthal ) in 1949 . Many vacant houses were demolished over the next few decades. Tollenstein was given the new Czech name Tolštýn, which was later changed again to Rozhled.

Culture and sights

The baroque statue of St. John Nepomuk from 1728, which stands at the crossroads in the lower part of the village, is remarkable in Rozhled . Many of the old houses have also been preserved in half-timbered construction .

In the middle of the village remains of a glassworks were found, which probably date from the 14th century. However , it could not be proven whether these remains come from the missing Glasendorf .

Economy and Infrastructure

From the 1960s Rozhled was developed into a resort on the nearby mountain Jedlová ( Tannenberg ) two downhill slopes Ski been set up to 1200 m long. The Slovan holiday home was built in place of the old inn.
