Malaguti was an Italian manufacturer of motorcycles , scooters and mopeds based in San Lazzaro di Savena , outside Bologna . The company was founded in 1930 by Antonio Malaguti. The company manufactured scooters and motorcycles from 49 to 500 cm³ , employed around 270 people , mainly in the only production facility in Castel San Pietro Terme , where the models have always been developed, produced and tested. At times, Malaguti also acted as a manufacturer for third-party brands, such as B. on the Yamaha XT 125R. In autumn 2009, plans for a hybrid motor scooter were presented.
Since no new investor was found, Malaguti stopped production and closed the plant in November 2011.
In 2018, the brand rights were acquired by the Austrian KSR Group , which wants to revive the brand primarily with various 125 cm³ motorcycles and a 300 cm³ scooter.
