The Malahide Cricket Club Ground , also known as The Village , is a cricket venue in Malahide , Ireland . It is located in the foothills of the Malahide Demesne Regional Park, which surrounds Malahide Castle .

Capacity & Infrastructure

The venue has no permanently installed grandstands, but rather offers spectators elevated positions around the field to watch. With temporary stands, the capacity can be expanded to 11,500 seats for international games. The two wicket ends are the Dublin Road End and the Castle End . It is located within walking distance to the train station in Malahide, which the DART is connected

International cricket

Until 2013, the Malahide Club was occasionally used for games between national teams with first-class status , for the first time in 1991 between Ireland and Ireland . The first One-Day International was held here in September 2013 between Ireland and England , it was Ireland's first official international home game. As a result, the venue was used for numerous ODI. When Ireland was granted test status , the Malahide Club became the venue for the first test. It was played against Pakistan between May 11th and 15th, 2018 . Initially, it was planned to build a permanent stadium at the Malahide Club, but in February 2018 it was decided to build it in a place that is not in such a sensitive place.
