Malerwinkel (Königssee)
The Malerwinkel is a lookout point on the north bank of the Königsee in the Berchtesgadener Land . The view offered from there is a frequently reproduced subject of the landscape representation.

The view of the Königsee from the Malerwinkel was and is very popular and has shaped the classic image of the lake in a special way. With the advent of photography, locals and tourists alike have used this perspective for countless photos of their own.
When the view is clear, visibility from Malerwinkel to the south can be up to ten kilometers. The predominantly wooded mountain slopes, which rise to the side, are dominated by rock faces in the south. In the center of this stone sea you can see one of its highest mountain peaks, the characteristic elevation of the Schönfeldspitze ( 2653 m ) , which is already in Austria, as well as the pilgrimage chapel St. Bartholomä at the foot of this natural backdrop .
In 2015, the Malerwinkel landed together with the other sights of the Königsee in 12th place of the TOP 100 sights in Germany .
Circular hiking trail
A circular hiking trail leads from the parking lot in Königssee after about 20 minutes past the Malerwinkel and from there through the forest to the Jennerbahn and from there back to the parking lot.
