Junior Malili Muliaina , better known as Mils Muliaina (born July 31, 1980 in Salesi , Samoa ) is a rugby union international for the New Zealand All Blacks . He was born in Salesi, Samoa, but moved to Invercargill with his family when he was two years old . In Southland he played in various youth teams and went first to Cargill High School, then later to Southland Boys 'High School, where he played rugby so well that he was offered a scholarship to Kelston Boys' High School in Auckland in 1998 .
Muliaina played for the NZ Secondary Schools XV and won the 1998 World Championship title with the team. The following year he repeated this with the U-19s and in 2000 and 2001 he was part of the U-21 World Championship squad (NZ Colt). Muliaina joined the Blues Super 12 team in 2001 and was part of the team that won the Super 12 title in 2003.
Muliaina's national team debut for the All Blacks was on June 14, 2003 against England at Westpac Stadium in Wellington . He was in the All Blacks squad for the 2003 Rugby World Cup , where he scored seven attempts . In 2004, he was the only player nominated for every international game the All Blacks played. Muliaina has also played in eleven tournaments for the New Zealand 7-a-side rugby team and won the gold medal with them at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester .
Despite the experience, which he described as internal three-quarters collected, Muliaina usually plays as a goalkeeper , where he is currently the world is regarded as one of the best players in a position. He currently plays for Waikato in the Air New Zealand Cup and for the Chiefs in Super 14. Muliaina is currently the goalkeeper of choice for the All Blacks.
