The Malin Valley is one of the Antarctic dry valleys in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the eastern part of the Olympus Range , it is on the west side of Mount Cerberus . To the north it opens to the Victoria Valley .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the valley in 2004 after the geologist Michael C. Malin of Arizona State University , who was involved in the study of erosion in the Antarctic dry valleys from 1983 to 1994 as part of the United States Antarctic Program .
